Adaptios Discount Manager Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, used and protected when you install or use Adaptios Discount Manager (the App). By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

Information accessed

The App accesses and processes limited store-related data made available through Shopify. It does not intentionally collect or store customer payment information or sensitive personal data.

• Product information and pricing
• Campaign configuration and scheduling data, including storefront banner settings, destinations and timing
• Shopify collection information, including identifiers, titles, handles and product membership used for campaign banner destinations
• Sales-channel publication information used to identify the Shopify Online Store and publish App-created temporary campaign collections
• Store identifiers, such as a unique store ID
• Technical data required for the App, including session data and webhooks
• Basic store information necessary for functionality and support

Store visitors

The App does not have a direct contractual relationship with your customers or visitors. When a merchant enables a campaign banner, the App provides a storefront script that a visitor’s browser requests to display the banner.

The banner does not use cookies or tracking technologies, and the App does not use visitor activity for advertising or profiling. Standard technical request information, such as an IP address, browser or device information and request timestamps, may be processed temporarily by our hosting and security infrastructure to deliver the banner, maintain security and diagnose service issues.

Merchants are responsible for ensuring their store’s privacy disclosures and permissions comply with applicable laws.

How information is used

Shopify may describe the sales-channel publication permission broadly as allowing the App to edit publications of products on sales channels. The App uses this permission only for the temporary campaign collection workflow described below and does not independently publish products or collections for other purposes.

Information is not sold and is not used for independent marketing, profiling or resale. It is shared only where necessary to operate the App or where legally required.

• Apply pricing adjustments
• Store campaign snapshots and banner configuration
• Create, customise, display, replace and remove optional storefront campaign banners
• Read the identifier, title and handle of a merchant-selected existing collection solely to use it as a banner destination; the App does not modify or delete that collection
• Create and populate a temporary manual Shopify collection containing eligible campaign products when the merchant selects a temporary collection as the banner destination
• Read sales-channel publication information solely to identify the Shopify Online Store and publish the App-created temporary campaign collection so customers can access it from the banner
• Delete an App-created temporary campaign collection when its campaign is rolled back or its banner is replaced, subject to Shopify API availability and the App retaining the required access
• Provide support
• Maintain system security
• Improve the reliability of the App

Data protection

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard data, taking into account industry standards and the nature of the information processed. Data is processed in accordance with applicable laws, including South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and, where applicable, international frameworks.

Data retention

Campaign-related data may be retained for a limited period, currently up to three months, to support functionality, reporting and system reliability. This may include banner configuration and the identifiers and handles of selected or App-created collections. Data may be deleted earlier upon request, subject to technical limitations.

An App-created temporary collection and its banner script remain in the merchant’s Shopify store until the campaign is rolled back, the banner is replaced or they are otherwise removed. If the App is uninstalled before cleanup, Shopify revokes the App’s access and the merchant may need to remove those items manually from Shopify.

Data hosting & cross-border transfers

Data may be processed and stored on infrastructure outside your country, including servers in the United States such as AWS us-east-1. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Data deletion

You may request deletion of store-related data by contacting support. Certain technical data, including webhook-related records, may persist temporarily due to system limitations.

Business transfers

If the business is sold, merged or restructured, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality protections.

Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised version.
